OPHTALMOSAN
COLLYRIUM 10 ML |
-
- COMPOSITION:
Naphazoline 0.025 %, Antazoline hydrochloride 0.5 %, Boric acid
3 5 in collyrium.
ACTION:
A combined agent for ophtalmological practice. Naphazoline is a
sympathomimetic with potent vasoconstricting action on the
peripheral vessels. It is more active, having a faster and
longer-lasting effect than epinephrine. Antazoline is an
antihistaminic with antiallergic action, at the same time reducing
the permeability of the vascular wall. All these properties are
intensified when combined with naphazoline. Drops of ophtalmosan
collyria in the eye in inflammatory diseases of the conjunctiva lead
to a quick and lasting reduction of hyperemia and edema, and
abatement of the sense of itching and burning in the eyes.
INDICATIONS:
Conjunctivitis induced by external noxae (solar, non-occupational
and occupationally-induced conjunctivitis), allergic conjunctivitis
and blepharoconjuctivitis (drugs, spring catarrh, hay fever or
general allergic diseases), follicular and other subacute and
chronic infectious conjunctivitis and blepharoconjuctivitis. |
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Erosions and ulcer of cornea, acute and chronic infectious
inflammation of the conjuctiva. Its application should be avoided in
infants.
