CONTRAINDICATION:
Novpjyllin should not be applied in cases of cardiac insufficiency,
especially if it is connected with myocardial infarction, in
coronary sclerosis and cardiac rhtythmic disturbances.
PRECAUTIONS:
A sharp AP rise may occur after intravenous application.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Oral administration: dyseptic symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea);
administration in the evening-insomnia. Rapid intravenous
application - dizziness, headache, palpitation, nausea, convulsions,
sharp drop of AP. At overdoses - rare toxic symptoms connected with
overexcitation of CNS (restlessness, dizziness, convulsions).
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Contradictory evidence for increased effect of corticosteriod
preparations. The preparation is not applied in combination with
oleandomycin.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Intramuscularly: 240-480 mg
Intravenously: 120-240 mg Novphylline diluted in 10-20 ml of 20 % or
40 % glucose solution, injected very slowly (for 4 to 6 min).
MEDICINAL FORM AND PACKAGE:
Ampoules of 480 mg/2 ml and 240 mg/10 ml in packs of 10 and 50.
STORAGE:
At moderate temperature (15-30° C).
EXPIRY:
2 (two) years.
