- COMPOSITION:
Sulfanylic acid % 5 and Rose water 20 % in ointment base
ACTION:
A drug for prophylaxis and treatment of skin damage caused by
sunrays. Sulfanylic acid, included in the drug, has the property of
absorbing a great part of the spectrum of ultraviolet light. The
infrared rays are held by the aqueous component of the ointment. The
skin areas on which ointment has been applied can be exposed for a
longer period to sun and ultraviolet rays.
INDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to sunrays, all kinds of photodermatoses:
photodynamic chronic polymorphic exanthema, porphyria, pelagra,
(hydroa vacciniformia, etc.), erythematodes, xeroderma pigmentosum,
heliodermaitis, summer cheilitis, urticaria, solar eczema,
precancerosis of skin, etc.
The drug can also be applied to vitiligo to reduce the contrast
between the depigmented and the normal skin; in case of freckles and
cholasma on the face. It is used as a cosmetic agent for protection
against sunburn, as well as for attaining an even suntan during
longer sun exposure. |
