- COMPOSITION:
Undecylenic acid 5 %, undecylenic zinc 20 %, Liquid paraffin 6
%, Adeps lanae 4 % in ointment.
ACTION:
The ointment has an antimycotic action. Undecylenic acid and its
zinc salt disturb the lipid metabolism of the fungi and hence induce
their destruction.
INDICATIONS:
Candidomycosis, interdigital and inguinal epidermomycosis.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
The skin areas affected by the mycotic disease are coated with the
ointment in the evening after a hot bath. Socks and shoes should be
sprinkled with antimycotic power. Due to the refractory disease and
to frequent recurrences after incomplete healing, the treatment is
recommended to last for at least 4-6 weeks after the elimination of
the clinical symptoms, the affected areas being treated 1-2 times
weekly. |
