COMPOSITION:
Centrophenoxin 250 mg/10 ml - lyophilized powder in one ampoule

ACTION:
Centrophenoxin is a drug with psychostimulating action, influencing the metabolism in the nerve cells. It improves the reactivity and adaptive processes in the central nervous system. It has a special regulating action through the corticoreticular interactions, hence it is included in the group of nootropic drugs. Its neuroanabolic effect determines the possibility to regulate homeostasis. In stress, centrophenoxin protects the adrenals from functional insufficiency. It normalized the activity of the endocrine glands.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
Centrophenoxin quickly passes through the bloodbrain barrier and is retained in the brain and myocardium in the highest concentrations. It is eliminated through the kidneys within 8 h.

INDICATIONS:
Patients after apoplexy and cranio-cerebral traumas with cerebrasthenic syndrome, dysfunction of the nervous system of traumatic, infectious, toxid, senile origin; an additive drug in parkinsonism and narcolepsy; neuritis, polyneuritis, polyradiculoneuritis, etc. In psychiatry: in depression, neurasthenia, encephalopathy, oligophrenia, senile exhaustion; in pediatrics: retarted development of children; in endocrinology: thyrotoxicosis, hypophyseal-ovarian dysfunction, etc.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Headache, sleep disorders, rarely - rhythmic cardiac disturbances, orthostatic hypotension, after fast injection - phlebitis, obstipation, muscle cramps.
It combines well with neuroleptics, tranquilizes, anticonvulsants.

PRECAUTIONS:
In sleep disorders - the last dose should not be given later than 4 p. m.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Parenterally - in a dose of 1000 to 2000 mg daily slowly intravenously or as infusion.

MEDICINAL FORM AND PACKAGE:
Ampoules with lyophilized powder of 10 ml together with solvent for each ampoule.

STORAGE:
At moderate temperature (15-30 C).

EXPIRY:
4 (four) years.
