BELLERGAMIN

StockNo Product description
EB0280-410-03 BELLERGAMIN DRAGEE X 20

COMPOSITION:
Alkaloids of Atropa belladonna 0.1 mg
Ergotamine tartrate 0.3 mg
Phenobarbital 20 mg
in one dragee.

ACTION:
A sedative with a tranquilizing effect both on the CNS and on the autonomic portion of the nervous system. The alkaloids of belladonna have a central cholinolytic and a stronger peripheral M-cholinolytic action resulting in elimination of the spasms of smooth muscles (of the organs with cholinergic innervation) and decreasing the secretion of the glands. They have a sedative action in a low dose, whereas the high doses excite the CNS. Ergotamine also has a sedative action. It inhibits slightly the metabolic processes and has an adrenolytic effect. The dose of the phenobarbital is sufficient to exert a mainly sedative effect, advancing slowly.

INDICATIONS:
Neuroses, enhanced neuro-vegetative excitation (cardiovascular, sexual, during menopause), hyperthyroidism, insomnia (resulting from excitation), neurovegetative disturbances in infectious diseases, migraine, Meniere syndrome, dizziness, dysmenorrhea, ulcer disease, spasms of the organs of the digestive tract, pruritus, urticaria, neurodermitis, sea and train sickness, radiation sickness.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Severe functional disorders of the liver and kidneys.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Xerostomia of oral mucosa is likely to occur, as well as disorders of vision, with higher doses in particular.

PRECAUTIONS:
Do not prescribe to breast-feeding mothers, drivers and machine operators.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
It is usually prescribed in 3-4 dragees daily, divided into three intakes. In severe cases - up to 4-6 dragees daily. In a long-term treatment, the initial high doses should gradually be decreased.

MEDICINAL FORM AND PACKAGE:
