- COMPOSITION:
Cholorquinaldol 10 mg; 100 mg in one dragee and
5 % ointment
ACTION:
Chemotherapeutic agent with pronounced antibacterial and antimyotic
properties. After oral intake, it is absorbed with difficulty in the
gastrointestinal tract and has a local antimicrobial action in the
intestinal lumen. It is active against both gram-positive and
gram-negative microorganisms. It is also active against pathogenic
fungi; less active against amebae, lambia, trichomonas. It does not
damage the physiological intestinal flora; well tolerated, and does
not irritate tissues and mucous membranes.
INDICATIONS:
Enteritis, entercolitis, gastroenteritis, summer diarrhea,
intestinal disturbances after administration of antibiotics,
dyspepsia, amebic dysentery, candidamycosis. Used prophylactically
against intestinal infections.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Peripheral neuritis, myelopathies and damage of the optic nerve
might occur after long-term oral administration and in subjects with
hypersensitivity to the drug. |
PRECAUTIONS:
To be administered only under physician's control. Do not prescribe
to subjects with lesions of the optic nerve and of the peripheral
nervous system.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Orally to adults: 1-2 dragees (0.1), 3 times daily after meals. The
doses can be doubled in severe cases and in Protozoa infections.
Children: 10-20 mg/kg body weight daily, divided into three intakes
(dragees of 0.01).
The drug ca be administered rectally as well (after cleansing enema)
as a suspension in 200 ml of water with body temperature, where the
crushed dragees are in the following doses: adults - 8 and children
- 4 (or the respective number of infant dragees).
MEDICINAL FORM AND PACKAGE:
Packages with 50 dragees of 10 mg and 100 mg.
Ointment in tubes of 20 g.
STORAGE:
Dragees - at moderate temperature (15-30° C), at a place protected
from moisture.
Ointment - at a temperature not higher than 25° C.
EXPIRY:
2 (two) years.
