- COMPOSITION:
Riboflavin B2 10 mg/2 ml in one ampoule and 1 mg; 5 mg in one
filmtablet.
ACTION:
Vitamin B2 (lactoflavin, riboflavin), after phosphorylation,
participates in many enzyme systems (flavoproteins), regulating the
oxidative processes in cells: Warburg's yellow respiratory enzyme,
cytochrome reductase, aminoacid oxidase, xanthoxidase,
diaminooxidase, etc. It facilitates the carbohydrate, lipid and
amino acid metabolism. It plays a certain role in the metabolism of
iron and porphyrin. It improves the growth of young people,
intensifies the resynthesis of visual purple and the hematopoietic
function of the organism, has a protective effect against allergic
reactions and injuries of the digestive canal mucosa. Some of the
typical deficiency symptoms are: photophobia, lacrimation,
blepharospasm, vascularization of cornea; cheilosis, stomatitis,
dysphagia, seborrheic dermatitis, body weight loss, suppression of
growth.
PHARMACOKINETICS:
Riboflavin is well absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and is
evenly distributed in the different tissues and organs, the highest
concentrations being established in the cornea and lens of the eye.
Its half-elimination time is about 5.5 days. The drug is excreted
with the urine, unchanged or as riboflavin-5-phosphate.
INDICATIONS:
Hypo- and avitaminosis B2, dermatosis in little children due to
unbalanced nutrition (mainly milk and carbohydrates), chronic
enteritis, disturbance in fat absorption (steatorrhea); celiac
disease, sprue, porphyrinuria, Plummer-Vinson syndrome, secondary
anemia, allergic states, disturbances in the growth of breast-fed
infants, conjuctivitis, iritis, accomodation disturbances,
blepharospasm, hemeralopia, stomatitis, labial rhagades. |
SIDE EFFECTS:
The drug is very well tolerated. No evidence has been found about B2
hypervitaminosis.

No clinically significant interactions between drugs simultaneously
administered with Vitamin B2 have been reported in the available
literature.
