The production of essential oils with Lavena dates from the creation of the company.

The first distillation facility was build in the city of Shoumen. Group of enthusiasts in the beginning of 1960s build an installation and plantations with Mentha piperita, Lavender in the region of North-East Bulgaria. In later years begins processing of Dill herb and others.

Distilleries are built in the villages Galabets, Grozden, Brestak, Geoegi Traikov and Samuil. Production is established of essential oils of Coriander, Sumac(h) (Rhus cotinus), Wormwood, Salvia, White Pine.

After 2000 the company established production of essential oils of Common balm (Melissa officinalis), Thyme, White Milfoil, Hyssop and Chamomile.
